  • September 1 - Research Basics for K-12 Teachers  ( 1.0 CEU credit - 10 hours)

Information technology continues to grow and evolve, and has become increasingly important for both teachers and students to know and understand.  This online interactive course will broaden knowledge regarding reputable sources, where to find them, and best search strategies.  Topics include the differences in Google, Google Scholar, and databases; types of information sources; search strategies; and evaluating sources.  It will offer research-related classroom activities that teachers may use to engage students.  Participants will be able to identify and find reputable resources (particularly online) so they can be more effective researchers themselves and pass these skills on to their students.  This is a self-paced/asynchronous course that should be completed within a four-week period.
